Created by Glee and American Horror Story mastermind Ryan Murphy, 9-1-1 follows the lives of first responders in Los Angeles, from dispatchers to police officers and paramedics.

The original cast included Angela Bassett as LAPD patrol sergeant Athena Carter Grant Nash and Peter Krause as her husband and LAFD captain Bobby Nash. Angela won Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the 2020 NAACP Awards for her role on the show.

The show has gone on to inspire a spin-off, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which is based in Austin, Texas, and stars Rob Lowe and Gina Torres.
